Hydrodynamic Laboratory
Hydrodynamic Laboratory
Hydrodynamic Laboratory in Engineering Faculty built in 2012.
Experimental works conducted in Ship Hydrodynamics Laboratory are including ship resistance, ship motions, ship, propulsion test and ship stability. It’s also used for undergraduate and postgraduate student project work, research projects and commercial testing.
Location
Ground Floor in Naval A Building
Standard Operating Procedure is a compulsory instruction, which describes how the regularly using laboratory for educational and research activity. You can see the SOP in here
Guidelines Ship Resistance Test is written step by step instructions that describe how to perform resistance test in towing tank. You can see the guideline in here .
Workin Instruction (Instruksi Kerja) is step, by step guide to used towing tank and the other tools for resistance test. You can see the working instruction in here.
Log book is filled before and after using laboratory facilites for every day.
Specifications
The towing tank dimensions are 60 m in length, 4 m in wide, 6 m in depth, and 3.75m in deep
They’re also capable of generating long crested random seas using a variety of wave spectra.
Models are towed using a monorail carriage system that has a maximum speed of 4 m/s in its normal mode. The carriage can be remotely or manually controlled, while the 12 channels data retrieval system is online to a PC.
